Buttermilk Scone Request

I thought I'd open up the floor on our new blog! I am seeking the perfect buttermilk scone recipe. I found one on smittenkitchen.com, but am open to other suggestions. Anyone?

  1. This one at smittenkitchen looks great and I'm going to try it right now.
I'd been using http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/buttermilk-scones-recipe/index.html which is quite good.
I'll be back in a bit and I'll let you know how they turned oot!

  2. Well.
    They are DEEEElish.
I followed the recipe - adding only a pinch of salt - and am very happy with them.
I made mine with the zest from one lemon, lavender sugar, and a mixture of dried cranberries and cherries. Yum!

  4. I made them and they were DELICIOUS! I actually used a different recipe because I don't bake with baking powder and I wanted to use buttermilk instead of heavy cream. I followed your lead and used lemon zest and added rasps and made tiny bite-sized scones. I think I'll make scones every weekend now!
